ORGANIZATION
HHFI teaches and demonstrates simple organic gardening methods to beneficiaries including individuals, groups and institutions located in Nairobi and western Kenya.
We provide seeds and technical support to families, farmer-affiliates, institutions, schools and community-based organizations.
HHFI-sponsored initiatives include Community Outreach, the Seeds Program, Flying Garden Farming and the Farmers' Training Program.
The HHFI Farmers’ Training Program focuses on agricultural skills transfer through a combination of classroom learning and practical demonstration. HHFI has established a network of visiting teachers who offer instruction in the local language as well as in English.
From time to time, HHFI will partner with groups whose activities complement HHFI's work, including academic and research organizations, and government institutions.
HHFI works closely with community leaders and influencers to encourage community-wide adoption of flying garden farming as well as other resource and labor saving farming practices.
